ENVIRONMENTAL LABELING

The Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security has published on its official website Decree No. 360 of September 28, 2022, "Guidelines on Packaging Labeling pursuant to Article 219, Paragraph 5, of Legislative Decree No. 152 of April 3, 2006." According to this decree, "all packaging must be appropriately labeled according to the applicable UNI technical standards and in compliance with the decisions adopted by the European Commission, to facilitate collection, reuse, recovery, and recycling of packaging."

This decree introduced the obligation of environmental labeling for materials, distinguishing based on the intended use of the product.

Packaging intended for B2B (commercial and/or industrial use) is not required to display information regarding the final destination of the packaging but must include material composition codes in compliance with Decision 129/97/EC. Instead of physically affixing labeling to the packaging, mandatory and optional information can be provided via shipping documents.

TOSATTO E VERONESI has decided to use this informational sheet, referenced in transport documents via QR code, to publish the alphanumeric codes of the packaging materials used on its website.
